Other than water, coffee is the next thing that most Singaporeans won’t be able to do without. After all, many of us start our day with a cup of coffee in hand.

With so many cafes in Singapore, it can be hard to find the best ones – but worry not because we have done that for you based on coffee quality, ambience, as well as the overall experience. Each of these cafes has some of the best coffee in Singapore which can be seen by the regular crowds that they attract there.

With that said, here are the top coffee cafes in Singapore for you to check out.

1. Common Man Coffee Roasters

Common Man Coffee Roasters is the perfect place to be for all your lazy Sunday afternoons, as well as quick coffee runs. The crowd can attest to this cafe’s popularity despite it being situated along the pretty obscure Martin Road.

All their espresso coffees are concocted with their signature CMCR Espresso Blend. It has a complex flavour, combining both citrusy floral notes with richer dark-fruits. Espresso aside, you can also opt for their single origins and micro-lots if you are looking to explore different coffee flavour profiles.

Food-wise, they have got an extensive menu with breakfast, lunch, and dessert options. There are also gluten-free, vegan, and vegetarian options, so your tree-hugging friends will be able to get something to eat here too.

With eccentric decor that mimics that of a bar, many customers come back as they enjoy the food and the excellent coffee that they serve.

You may have seen Tiong Hoe Specialty Coffee’s beans once or twice while taking a stroll around Fairprice Xtra, but did you know that they also have a physical store where you can get their coffee?

Tiong Hoe Specialty Coffee first started as a wholesaler back in the 1960s but has now developed its space into a place where customers are invited in to try their coffee. You can also come and see how their coffee beans are processed as well.

Their menu is simple – you will find some bites and tea for those who are not keen on coffee. But I would say that the coffee here is still what makes people come back for more. You will be surprised at how excellent a simple cup of coffee can be when you are here, and for such a reasonable price too.

This cafe also houses three Q-graders who are qualified to taste and grade coffee, so you know that you will be getting the best cuppa joe during your visit. If you’ve got any questions about coffee, you can also come here and ask them about it – they are basically walking encyclopedias when it comes to coffee.

Dutch Colony Coffee Co. serves excellent food, including entrees and salads for those looking for a whole meal. Like many other cafes, they have got your standard espresso and pour-over brew, but what makes them stand out from the pack would be their steampunk and hand brew method.

Plus, they also give you the option to try both their signature blends and single origins in their Espresso Flight Coffee menu, so you can taste the difference between different sorts of coffee.

Many enjoy the overall experience that they get at Dutch Colony Coffee Co. as the service is excellent for such a popular cafe. Expect there to be a waiting time, but the tasty food should make up for it. Some even praise the clean and comfortable restroom too! This cafe is also a good place for your long annual catch-up with friends, as staff are not pushy about the limited dining times.
