[Review] Get yourself nourished with Angel Confinement Meals [2022] 

With covid lingering in our society, we realise the importance of having good health. Why the need for confinement meals? Confinement meals are important, especially for new moms, as these meals help with recuperating and rebuilding strength after giving birth. To all the new moms out there, this might be a good place for you to find your essential nourishment. Here we share with you our review on Angel Confinement Meals.

Good Quality Packaging

Angel Confinement Meals had made a good impression on me when their food arrived. Their food packaging was of good and thick quality, unlike the usually cheap containers you see when you take away your food in the food court or shopping mall.

Additionally, as you can see, they wrapped a layer of cling wrap to keep the food and soups intact without spilling during delivery. At this point, my stomach was grumbling from hunger!

Generous Portion, Vibrant Food Choices

The bento came in generous portions. There was the Pig’s Trotter in Ginger & Vinegar, Pan-Fried Ginger Garlic Baked Salmon, Stir-Fry Spinach in Mixed Mushrooms with Goji Berries and Traditional Pumpkin Rice with Mushrooms & Ginger Slices.

Of these four, my personal favourites were Pumpkin Rice and Pig’s Trotter. I am a big fan of Pig’s Trotter with Vinegar, and the dish tasted similar to what my mother would cook for our family once a year during Chinese New Year.

The Pig Trotter in Ginger & Vinegar had a strong taste of vinegar and the dish was sweet with a hint of spiciness from the ginger. Pleasantly, it had an ideal ratio of 30% fatty and 70% lean meat.

Next up, the Traditional Pumpkin Rice with Mushroom & Ginger Slices. The rice might look dry, but in fact, there was good moisture in the rice. The pumpkin was soft to bite and the ginger slices were fried nicely, with the ginger crispy inside.

For Pan-Fried Ginger Garlic Baked Salmon, the salmon tasted refreshing. It tasted mild as compared to some other places with a strong fishy taste. I liked that the fish was not dry and you could still taste the salmon oil in the meat.

Lastly, in the bento, we have the Stir-Fry Spinach in Mixed Mushrooms with Goji Berries. This dish is like a typical home-cooked kind, filled with a good portion of vegetables. Despite its gravy, the dish was mild, which I personally liked, and it went well with the Pumpkin rice.

Green Papaya Fish Soup

Whenever I buy fish soup outside, I will always have them with extra milk. This Green Papaya Fish Soup tasted similar. Personally, I’m not a fan of papaya, but the dish tasted rich but with just a hint of papaya taste in the dish. Additionally, the fish and papaya in the soup were generous.

Red Bean Soup

We have red bean soup as our dessert for this meal! The red bean soup is the typical kind of mother and grandmother’s freshly cooked soup at home. The red bean was soft but not too soggy, the soup was mild and of a right sweetness.

Red Date Ginger Tea

For beverage, we had the Red Date Ginger Tea. This tea tasted sweet and with a hint of spice from the ginger tea. I felt really refreshed after downing this tea!
